Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.27
This week is the second Korn Ferry Tour Finals event. The host course is the Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus Ohio. The Scarlet course is a 7,418-yard par 71 monster with 4 par 3's all of them over 200 yards and 3 of them over 220 yards. Tree lined with plenty of bunkers in play, this is a challenging test for these players. A few of the more prominent players that attended OSU, and there are many, are Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf and Meg Mallon. All three are Major winners with Niklaus and Mallon winning multiple Majors during their careers.

As I mentioned in my last report, the next few weeks will be all about taking orders for off season testing. Players are making adjustments to the current clubs they are using based on course conditions and set up, but are not very interested in making changes at this point of the year. Each week is too important to try something new.

The RR 60 SP that I built for Dan last week, is going into play this week. Even though he doesn't like to put anything new directly in the bag that he hasn't had a chance to break in, I built an RR 56 AG (bent to 55°) that might make it into play this week to replace his 54. The deep sand traps on this course have him thinking he may need something with more bounce and an aggressive sole shape. He hit it very well, so I would not be surprised to see him use it this week.

I also worked with a prominent Japanese player who is currently in a position to earn his PGA Tour card for next year. He loves the look and feel of our RR Wedges and wants the test wedges I made for him sent home to practice with in the off season.
Next week - After a week off, the Korn Ferry will be in Tulsa Oklahoma for the Compliance Solutions Championship. Only the top 120 players on the points list will be in this field.
