LPGA TPC Boston

Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.25

Another LPGA event this week as the Korn Ferry is off for another two weeks preparing for the finals four events of the 2025 season. I was at TPC Boston in Norton Massachusetts for the LPGA FM Championship. It is only the second year this tournament has been played here, but it has attracted a very strong field with 35 of the top 40 Rolex Ranking players in attendance. The 4.1-million-dollar purse, the highest non-major purse this year, and the fantastic TPC course make playing this event an easy decision. Designed by Arnold Palmer back in 2002 and renovated by Brad Faxton and Gil Hanse in 2007, this course hosted the PGA Deutsche Bank event for many years. The course will play at 6,544 yards this week and par 72.

Haeji Kang, Ssu-Chia Cheng and Jodi Shadoff are all in the field this week. I spent time with all of them discussing current usage and off-season testing projects. I also spent a great deal of time this week taking orders for equipment for the off season. Players that have been interested but hesitant to make a mid-season change, are now having me spec out their clubs so I can build something for them to work with during the off season. I am confident that next season will start with even more PROTOCONCEPT supporters.

A fun side note, I ran into an old co-worker I had not seen in 10 plus years. She is working for a young Japanese player in this week's event. It is always nice to see old friends and catch up on their lives. I do love my job!

Next week - Back out with the Korn Ferry Tour as they start the "Finals". The first event, Simmons Bank in Franklin, TN., features a full field. Each subsequent week the field will shrink based on accumulative points earned the entire season. The final event, the Tour Championship will be the top 75 players with the most points earned. At the end of that week the top 20 points earners will receive their PGA Tour card for 2026. The remaining 55 players will be fully exempt on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2026. Additional cards will be available through Q-School later in the year.
