Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.14
The Korn Ferry event this week, the Knoxville Open, is held at Holston Hills C.C. in Knoxville, Tennessee. The course was designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1927. As is his style, this course features strategically placed bunkers and small multi-tiered undulating greens. At just over 7,000 yards, it is one of the players favorite courses on the Korn Ferry schedule.

I worked with Dan McCarthy some more this week. We are slowly adding more C01TB ic's to his set makeup. This week we added the 7 and 8 iron. He can't believe how easy they are to hit and likes the control and ball flight slightly better than with the C03TC's. He asked me to build a 6 iron for him, which I will send to the event next week for testing.
I will be at the US Women's Open next week, so I will see him the following week at BMW and see if he put it in the bag.

In addition to working with Dan, I gave a RR 60AG wedge to a top 20 player to work with. He tested it on the range and also took it to the chipping area and put it through its paces. The fact that he kept it and practiced as long as he did, gives me the hope that we will be working together soon on additional lofts.

Dan mentioned to me that wearing the PROTOC hat has caused him to have to answer a lot of questions. He shows off the irons and wedges and said there have been a lot of compliments sent our way. I did notice more players looking in the bag as they walked by this week.
I hope that will turn into stopping and asking to test equipment.
Next week - US Women's Open at Erin Hills C.C. in Erin, Wisconsin.
