Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.13
This week's Korn Ferry event, the Advent Health Championship, is held at Blue Hills C.C. in Kansas City Missouri. The par 72, 7,383-yard course will be hosting a very strong field. There are 16 PGA Tour winners with a combined 29 career wins as well as 56 Korn Ferry Tour winners with a combined 81 tour wins in this event. The last couple years, there has been a lot of rain prior to and during the tournament. This year, there hasn't been much rain and the course is in excellent condition with no rain in the forecast. It should be a wonderful tournament to watch and play.

I worked with Dan McCarthy on his C01.5 #3 this week. The shaft has not felt exactly as he would like it to feel, so we played around with some different options and I think we may have found the right combination.
In addition, we adjusted the loft and lie on a few of his C01TB's and C03TC's. He is still trying to dial in the yardages; he is hitting our irons a little longer than he is used to hitting his old ones (a good problem to have for most of us). Dan has also asked to wear our headwear. He is testing our current offerings this week, let's hope they get some TV time.

In addition to working with Dan, I followed up with two players that are testing our wedges and irons. The feedback was very good, but they still need more time to become comfortable and trusting how how the clubs react. I will remain patient and supportive; too much pressure is never a good thing. Most players need time to become comfortable with any new equipment.
I also received a lead on a Champions Tour player that is in the market for a premium forged iron. I will be contacting him this week and see if I can build him a set of PROTOCONCEPT irons to test.
Next week - I will return to the Korn Ferry Tour for the Knoxville Open at Holston C.C, in Knoxville, TN. May 19th - 25th.
