Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.18
This week's event, the Wichita Open, is held at Crestview Country Club in Wichita Kansas. Crestview C.C. has hosted this event since 2001, and Wichita has hosted an event every year since the Tour's inaugural season in 1990.

This week was one of those week's when, due to weather, not much work was done with players. Monday, the weather in Wichita was nice, but storms in the rest of the country made travel difficult for players and caddies that were flying in. Monday night, that weather reached Wichita. Thunderstorms with winds estimated at 100+ mph did extensive damage to the course and surrounding area. This forced the closer of the course as well as all practice facilities on Tuesday. The grounds crew, members and volunteers did an amazing job of clearing downed trees and debris from the tournament course (in the rain) Tuesday so the ProAm could go off as planned on Wednesday. The course is very wet but playable after the 2-3 inches of rain they received Monday night and Tuesday.

I saw Dan McCarthy for a few minutes before he teed off for his ProAm on Wednesday. He is rested and in good spirits after his week off. Another note: Lydia Ko, Haeji Kang and Jodi Shadoff are competing in the KMPG Women's PGA Championship in Frisco Texas.
Let's keep an eye on them as well this week.
Next week - Back out on the Korn Ferry for the Memorial Health Championship in Springfield IL.
