The Pinnacle at The Club

Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.23

My travels took me to The Club at Indian Creek in Omaha, Nebraska for the Korn Ferry Pinnacle Bank Championship. One of the most challenging courses on the schedule, this par 71, 7,721-yard course will test the players abilities. Unlike many of the other courses on the schedule, the fairway bunkers will be in play, forcing players to hit locations on the fairway, not just bomb their drives as long as possible. This public course is PGA Tour quality and a favorite stop for many of the guys. The Club at Indian Creek has hosted this event since 2017 and hopefully will continue that tradition for years to come.

The weather was an issue this week with rain most of the day on Monday, making practice a wet soggy experience. Tuesday proved to be a better day and the range was very busy for 3 to 4-hours midday. Getting out to play the course after practicing made for a long day for the players. Wednesday morning brought heavy thunderstorms into the area, closing the facilities and causing wind damage to many of the displays and fencing erected for the tournament. The morning ProAm was cancelled and the afternoon ProAm was questionable as repairs and flooding were being taken care of by the grounds crew.

Dan McCarthy testing C01D Driver

Dan McCarthy tested the PROTOCONCEPT C01D driver for me on Tuesday. "Wow, impressive" was his reaction after hitting a few drives. The numbers were awesome and the feel was "great". This was the first time I have had a player hit out C01D driver and I too was impressed with the way the ball jumped off the face and the overall performance numbers. Spin, launch and carry were definitely tour quality.

Thank you, Dan, for taking the time to test this driver for me!

Next week - Back on the LPGA as the players return from overseas. I will be in Portland Oregon for the Standard Portland Classic at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
