Tour Talk with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.20
After a couple weeks at home with my family, I was off to Springfield, Missouri for the Korn Ferry Price Cutter Charity Championship. Highland Springs Country Club has hosted this event for the last 36 years; it is one of only four events that has been played every season since the tour started back in 1990.

The field is strong, having nine PGA Tour Winners as well as 44 Korn Ferry winners. Neal Shipley won his second tournament last week and could earn a three-victory promotion (battlefield promotion) to the PGA Tour with another win this week.

Our man Dan McCarthy decided to test a new prototype shaft in this irons. Tuesday afternoon I re-shafted his entire set of irons so he could go play 9 holes with them. He seems to like them and will be using them in this week's tournament. Making changes to "gamers" last minute is not usually how I like to do things, but it is always the players decision to make, not mine. I also did some grinding to his backup RR 60-degree wedge with the SP sole. He was looking to test a little more heel and trailing edge relief. We will discuss the results next week after he has had time to work with it more.
Next week - Practically a home week for me. The Korn Ferry NV5 Invitational at The Glen Club in Glenville, IL.
