Tour Report with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.38

This week I visited Raleigh North Carolina for the UNC Health Championship. Played at Raleigh Country Club, it is one of the longest continuous running events (32 nd ) on the Korn Ferry Tour.

The course is 7,133 yards and par 70. It has well-guarded greens and tree lined fairways. As great as the course is, the thing players liked the most is the fantastic practice area.

With one of the largest (if not the largest) putting greens on tour, players spent hours practicing for this week. They also spent more than the normal amount of time in the short game area due to its 4 separate green/bunker practice areas.

The weather cooperated for the most part, although there was some rain and one thunderstorm that moved through the area. It will be a hot and humid event for sure.

I worked with one new player this week and again with one from last week. After playing with our wedges last week, it was decided that he needed a few alterations to them this week. I built 4 new wedges with different grips and swing weights.

My new player wanted to test a 52 degree wedge to replace a Mizuno wedge he uses. He is going to play with it in the ProAm and let me know how it performed for him.
