Tour Report with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.39
This week is the 2026 US Women’s Open, being held at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
The Riviera C.C. needs no introduction to any golf enthusiast, as it is widely known for hosting the PGA Genisis Invitational (formally the LA Open) for many years. Ranked as one of the top 50 courses in the world and top 25 in the U.S., it has hosted many Major Tournaments and will host the 2028 golf event for the Olympic Games.

Some interesting facts about Riviera: Both Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods competed in their first PGA event at Riviera. Jack in 1962 (he earned $33.33 for his 50 th place finish) and Tiger (at sixteen years old) in 1992 as a sponsor’s exemption.
I had the privilege of being a guest of Earl Woods to see Tiger play in that event. I worked on Tigers clubs until he became a professional and signed with a major brand.
Another fact, the course was designed by an amateur architect named George C. Thomas free of charge. It took 18 months and the course opened in 1927.

Enough about The Riviera Country Club, PROTOCONCEPT had one player in the field this week. She is a very well-known player from China and has a very popular boyfriend as well.

She is currently using our RR wedges, 46, 54 and 60SP in chrome finish. She is very happy with their performance and didn’t need any addition changes done for this event.
Side note, her caddy this week is a full time Korn Ferry player who has been testing our wedges for the past couple weeks. He was so impressed with her wedge play when she qualified for the Open that he needed to try them for himself.
