Tour Report with PROTOCONCEPT - VOL.34

This week I traveled to Houston Texas for the first Major of the year, The Chevron Championship.

Chevron Championship

For the first time, this event is being held at Memorial Park Golf Course, the same venue that hosts the PGA Houston Open. The course is being set up to play 6811 yards par 72, which will give the advantage to long hitters.

If you have watched the Houston Open, you know that the greens are treacherous and require landing your approach shots in the proper area to leave a makable putt. It will be challenging and fund to watch for sure.

Just like last year, the weather was an issue during the practice days. Monday it rained off and on all day.

Being the first time players had been here, getting out on the course was more important than practicing. A quick warm up and off to the first tee was the norm all day Monday. Tuesday brought more rain and this time steady rain.

Lightening in the area meant stopping play for a couple hours in the morning and later, flooding on the course and driving range in the late afternoon stopped play again.

Chevron Weather

All and all, not a very productive work week. Of course, being a major, there usually isn't a lot of changing of equipment anyway.

PROTOCONCEPT Ambassador Jodi has qualified for this week's Major tournament, marking her first Major since joining the company.

Jodi Shadoff

We're excited to see her compete in this special event. Last week, she performed impressively with her irons and wedges, although putting was a challenge.

We wish her good luck this week.

Up Next: After a week off, I will be in New Jersey for the LPGA Mizuho Americas Open
